Saving Banksy

As I was looking for something to watch whilst I was eating my tea, I came across this. Being interested in street art since secondary school, I thought I'd give this a watch.

Saving Banksy is about the idea of how street art is treated, on and off the wall. This documentary follows the ambition of a guy who wants to save Banksy's 6ft rat by holding it for a museum, for public viewing. It was interesting to see how other street artists feel about Banksy and what other street artists do in order to express themselves. Ben Eine, who can be seen in the thumbnail in the image above, his use of letterforms really attracts me the most from the whole documentary. Most art dealers will take Banksy and other street artist' work to then sell on for their own gain. I personally think this is wrong, I feel that street art belongs on the street. Street art is for the public to enjoy and to annoy the ones who will be against the art. If anything the artwork should be recorded by a film or displayed in a museum/public exhibits. Street art is not to be displayed in collectors front room.
